Solico Engineers GRP Pultrusion Platform for Laxey’s Post-Smolt Facility

Solico supported Laxey and Fiberline with the engineering of a large GRP pultrusion platform for Laxey’s latest Post-Smolt Facility in the Westman Islands, Iceland.

Laxey is developing land-based Atlantic salmon farming powered by renewable energy. With Section 1 now fully operational and regular harvesting under way, the company continues to progress towards its goal of six sections and a targeted annual production capacity of 36,000 tonnes HOG.

For this project, Solico delivered the complete 3D design and structural verification, including the detailed design of profiles, brackets and bolted connections. We also produced assembly and component drawings, complementing Fiberline’s ability to supply all profiles pre-drilled and pre-machined.

The result: a fully prepared package that could be efficiently assembled on site, much like a puzzle.
