On February 1, Hans Muller will retire from Solico, taking time to focus on family, friends, and his own personal engineering projects. Hans leaves the company he founded more than 33 years ago in excellent shape, a thriving composite engineering practice with a growing team and a strong order book going forwards.
A lifelong engineer, Hans’ early career working for the Ministry and Defence and Poly Marin saw a growing interest for composites in lightweighting applications, and the idea for a dedicated composite engineering company was born. Originally known as Muller Consultancy, the team grew as the number of projects increased rapidly and, by the early 90’s, Solico’s core team of ambitious young engineers was in place.
It is a testament to the passion, vision and drive that Hans brought to the business that Solico has continued to grow so successfully, with a dynamic team of 20 now working across a diverse range of composite markets.
From everyone at Solico, we would like to congratulate Hans on his retirement and thank him for making Solico such a special place to work. The team recently presented Hans with a photobook looking back through the years of Solico projects, events and history and it really captured the way that Hans was not only focused on building a company that is successful, but also one that it is always fun to be a part of.
