Lightweight Composite Subframe for the Donkervoort P24 RS

Solico is proud to have contributed to the development of the newly unveiled P24 RS by Donkervoort, a vehicle that sets new benchmarks in lightweight performance engineering.

With weight reduction at the heart of its design, the P24 RS makes extensive use of advanced carbon fibre composites. Solico Engineering supported the development and optimisation of the composite subframe, focusing on achieving the optimal balance between minimal weight, increased stiffness and overall performance.

A defining element of this collaboration is the material innovation behind the project. The subframe was developed using Ex-Core technology, Donkervoort’s patented composite solution, pushing the boundaries of structural efficiency.

The project also carries a personal dimension. Katleen Mattheus, the Solico engineer leading this work, first worked with Ex-Core seven years ago during her Aerospace Engineering thesis at Donkervoort. Seeing this early research evolve into a real-world application on the P24 RS makes this achievement particularly meaningful.
